Five Essential Keys to Successful Outcomes

Are you creating your desired reality?  Are you getting the outcomes that you want?  Are you really connected to your goals?  Do you unlock and project your full potential on a daily basis? Here is the fifth and final instalment of our five NLP essentials to creating the future that you want, right now:

 

Operate from a psychology and physiology of excellence

Have you noticed that people who produce excellent behaviour have a way of holding themselves physically?  They have a way of holding their physiology which promotes and supports their psychology of excellence.  They have a way of creating internal representations which support a positive internal state and a positive physiology which in turn produces a pattern of behaviour centred around excellence.

 

Your thoughts are very important as they ultimately produce your behaviour.  The profession of NLP had modelled excellent behaviour and produced processes which enable us to take the model of excellence and install it in ourselves and others.  By doing this we can be sure to produce excellent results whenever required.  Thought process works in 3 ways:

 

  • Think about what you want.
  • Pay attention to what you want.
  • Adopt a powerful physiology as a result of your focussed thinking.

 

Successful people have a way of staying in an ‘uptime’ state.  Here is a simple, fast and effective NLP technique for you to have a go at and create excellent states for yourself that you can call up on demand whenever you need them.  It’s called the Circle of Excellence.  Here’s what to do…

 

Please get up from wherever you are sitting right now and choose a spot in the room to stand in, with a space in front of you of about half a meter.  Now, bring your gaze down to the floor in front of you and imagine a circle, about half a meter in diameter, right there on the floor in front of you.  You can imagine the circle any way you like.  It might be a bright glowing circle or a circle of fire and a sparkling circle, it’s entirely your choice.

 

Now, as you stand in front of your circle, close your eyes and remember a time when you felt really motivated, a specific time.  As you remember that time now, float down into your body, see what you saw, hear what you heard and really feel those feelings of being totally motivated.  As you get the really motivated feeling, step into the circle and enjoy the intense feeling of motivation now.  Notice how your physiology and breathing change from how they normally feel.  Enjoy that feeling, then as the feeling begins to subside, step back out of the circle.

 

You can repeat the process as many times as you like, using emotional states which are useful to you in your pursuit of excellence.  Suggestions of useful states are powerful, the feeling you get when you know that you can have it all, energetic, confident and focussed.  For each state you choose, think of a specific time when you have felt that state intensely, then allow yourself to go back to that time, float down into your body, hear what you heard, see what you saw and really feel those great feelings. As the feelings develop, step into the circle and notice your physiology and breathing.  As each state begins to subside, step out of the ring, clear your mental screen, have a stretch and then begin your next chosen state.

 

After you have repeated the process for as many states as you feel would be useful, then it’s time to test.  The circle is now an anchor point for all of those lovely states of excellence that you have worked with.  Step into the circle and notice that you immediately feel a potent mixture of all of the excellent states that you have anchored there.

 

Step back out of the circle and imagine shrinking it down to the size of a bracelet or ring.  Pick it up and put it on your finger or your wrist.  You can now carry those excellent states around with you so that you can use them at any time you like.  When you require excellent states, just place your circle back onto the floor, expand it out and step into it.  You will get all of your excellent states back immediately and the physiology that goes with them to.  In this way you can now go ahead and produce excellent results.
